Australian and Queensland Apprenticeships

Australian Apprenticeships - provides general information about Australian Apprenticeships as well information specific to different user groups such as employers, job seekers, school leavers and careers advisers. 

Apprenticeships Info - provides free advice, referrals and support to all Queenslanders about apprenticeships, traineeships and training options in Queensland.

National Apprenticeships Program - are you interested in gaining trade qualifications in a unique Advanced Entry Adult Apprenticeship which could see you graduate in under eighteen months?  Check out this website for all the info.

Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET)

Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF)
AQTF is the national set of standards which assures nationally consistent, high-quality training and assessment services for the clients of Australias vocational education and training system.  Under the AQTF framework, all providers of VET must be Registered Training Organisations.  Many qualifications obtained through the VET sector are aimed at employment in middle-level professional areas in a wide range of industries.  All VET qualifications and courses are developed in consultation with industry.  Click here for more info.

DVD/Video Training Library

"Your Success" DVD/Video training library. DVDs/Videos are the ideal medium to allow for repetition and reinforcement of principles and skills. Group Training

The trades and alternative vocational career paths have evolved into exciting career options - without the HECS debt.  Group Training Organisations (GTOs) employ apprentices and trainees and then place them with host businesses until the apprenticeship or traineeship has been completed.  GTOs offer careers in most industries including trades such as automotive, construction, electrotechnology and engineering through to service industries such as hospitality, tourism, retail, business and community services.  GTOs know where the opportunities are and how to approach businesses to gain placements.  For more information contact Group Training on freecall 1800 819 747 or visit www.grouptraining.com.au

Industry Skills Councils (ISCs)

The 11 national Industry Skills Councils (ISCs) cover the skills needs of most Australian industry. In general terms these organisations work to involve industry with the development of nationally applicable vocational education and training.
ISCs are privately registered companies run by industry-based boards of directors, but whose funding is provided substantially by the Australian Government through the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.  Click here for more info.

 

National Training Information Service (NTIS)

NTIS is the national register of Vocational Education & Training (VET).  NTIS contains information on accredited VET courses, training packages, national competency standards, course providers ad their scope of registration, course copyright owners and accreditation authorities.  Visit this website to check if a course is accredited or if an organisation is a registered training provider (RTO) authorised to award VET qualifications.  For more info visit www.ntis.gov.au

 

Skilling Australia Initiative - Productivity Placements Program
This Program provides an opportunity for people to improve their skills so they can find employment.  It provides new training places in skills shortage areas.  Certificates II, III and higher level qualifications are available. If you are unemployed and registered with an employment service provider (a Job Network or Disability Employment Network), you can discuss with them the possibility of obtaining a referral to a training organisation.  If you are not registered with an employment service provider, you need to apply directly to a participating training organisation.  Full-time students and people who are self-employed are not eligible fot the program. Tuition Assurance
The Australian Student Assurance Scheme (ASTAS) has been established by ACPET (see link above) to ensure that domestic students displaced from any course conducted by an ACPET member participating in ASTAS, due to a member's inability to continue the course, will be relocated with minimal disruption to a comparable course.  Click here for more info.  A similar scheme for overseas students has also been established - the Overseas Student Tuition Assurance Scheme (OSTAS) - click here for more info.
