STUDENTS WITH A DISABILITY (ACCESS TO INFORMATION AND SUPPORT)

Navigating the range of education services available for children with a disability just got easier with the release of a new online resource for parents, Education for children with a disability - a guide for parents. Produced by the Department of Education, Training and the Arts, the easy-to-use guide ensures parents can access a broad range of services and information.

This guide aims to give you a broad understanding of the support available for children and young people with a disability in the state school sector.

It will give you a quick tour of:

  • schooling for children with a disability in Queensland
  • the specialised support available to students with a disability
  • what you can do to get the best outcomes for your child.

The guide is a starting point for gathering information that will help you and your family make informed decisions about your child's education. It is organised by topics, and provides advice about where you can find more detailed information.
