Coaching your Inner Work
Tuesdays weekly 10am to 12pm
Cost $20
Receive guidance with how you 'work with yourself'. It's easy to get lost in cycling, blaming, or getting into moods like hopelessness when trying to sort stuff out. Learn the basics of your inner world, so you can find your way home and stay centred.
Working with the legacy of Trauma
Tuesdays weekly 6pm to 8pm
Cost $20
This class is for those who know help needs to be in gentle, contained, skilled and guided steps. Less is more. Slower is safer. Many of us have known trauma: it doesn't have to have been extreme and known. Some is buried in 'implicit' memory. The event/s are less important than the legacy and how to navigate and work with symptoms and triggers. Feel free to call for more information.
Learning about Power: its use and misuse
1st & 3rd Saturday of the month, beginning 3rd Dec, 2016.
Time: 2pm to 5pm
Cost $35
Disempowered, losing it and hurting your loved ones, in the wrong job, struggling with parenting, losing something precious, furious or celebrating 'Trump-like' people - all of us are in the process of some kind of relationship with power. Perhaps you'd rather use the word authority, assertiveness, influence, control or leverage. Or maybe coercion, domestic violence or gas-lighting. In all cases we are looking at what gives us the energy and clarity to act, or understand and work with what holds us back.
In some situations we absolutely feel we don't have any power, and in one sense, that's just true. At another level, its simply not the whole story. Some of our abilities and powers are hidden from us and we can be oblivious to why others make accusations against us of being powerful. Why else would the other person need to escalate to control or defeat us if they didn't see us as threatening or in some measure, powerful?
Come along to session 1 of this 8 session course to learn about the intricacies and complexities of power.

PRESERVING THE PAST AND CREATING THE FUTURE
Jenny
Adin-Christie was originally from Derbyshire, England and has been
exhaustively trained as a professional embroiderer completing a three
year apprenticeship at the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court
Palace. She graduated with distinction in 1999, winning prizes for silk
shading and Coronation Goldwork. Jenny remained at the RSN to work for
10 years. In
2008, Jenny embarked on a freelance career. She undertakes many
international teaching tours as well as teaching in the U.K. She also
works to commission, producing a diverse range of new work as well as
repair to antique textiles. Her
recent work includes playing a key role in the RSN team which produced
the pace panels for the Duchess of Cambridge's famed royal wedding dress
and working on a monogrammed babygro for Prince George.
Jenny's
talk will provide a unique insight into the now extinct form of
Apprenticeship training and the life and career of a professional
embroiderer. This includes the fully illustrated story behind the broad
range of notable commissions which Jenny has been privileged to be part
of both in conservation and restoration of antique textiles and the
production of new works of art.
These
commissions include designing and creating the new All Seasons and
Lenten Altar Frontals for Canterbury Cathedral; creating the new pelmet
and curtains for the Royal Opera House, Covent Gardens, and working on
the embroidered monograms for the cover of Sir Paul McCartney's
classical album 'Ecce Cor Meum'.
Jenny
is returning to Noosa tutoring 3 days of embroidery workshops in
conjunction with the Embroiderer's Group at Wallace House and is holding
her information evening at the U3A auditorium in Tewantin on Monday 31
July from 6:30 to 9:00. Entry cost is $5 and tea and coffee will be
served.
Noosa
Arts & Crafts Association membership costs $75 per annum, renewals
